چکیده

Chiral nonperturbative approach to the isoscalar s-wave ππ interaction in a nuclear medium Abstract The s-wave isoscalar amplitude for ππ scattering in a nuclear medium is evaluated using a nonperturbative unitary coupled channels method and the standard chiral Lagrangians. The method has proved successful to describe the ππ properties in the scalar isoscalar channel up to 1.2 GeV giving rise to poles in the t matrix for the f 0 (980) and the σ. The extension of the method to the nuclear medium implies not only the renormalization of the pions in the medium, but also the introduction of interaction terms related to contact terms in the πN → ππN interaction. Off shell effects are also shown to be important leading to cancellations which reduce the coupled channel integral equations to a set of algebraic equations. For intermediate densities we find an accumulation of strength in the ππ system at energies above threshold plus narrow peaks below or close to threshold, but those peaks fade away as the nuclear density increases approaching normal nuclear matter density .

Scalar Isoscalar Pion Pairs in Nuclei and the A(π, Ππ)x Reaction Typeset Using Revt E X 1

The reaction A(π, ππ)X has been studied at low energies, paying particular attention to the interaction of the two final pions in the scalar isoscalar (I=J=0) channel. We have developed a microscopic model for the pion production , and then implemented the two pion final state interaction by using the results of a non-perturbative unitary coupled-channels method based in the standard chiral Lag...

Application of Roy's Equations to Analysis of Ππ Experimental Data

Pions are produced in many reactions. A good experimental and theoretical information on low, medium and high-energy pion-pion interactions should give us a better understanding of nonperturbative QCD and of the chiral perturbation theory. It allows a better insight into qq̄ vacuum condensate and then into the mechanism of spontaneous breaking of chiral symmetry. It should also give a better kno...

Chiral Symmetry Amplitudes in the S-wave Isoscalar and Isovector Channels

We use a nonpertubative approach which combines coupled channel Lippmann Schwinger equations with meson-meson potentials provided by the lowest order chiral Lagrangian. By means of one parameter, a cut off in the momentum of the loop integrals, which results of the order of 1 GeV, we obtain singularities in the S-wave amplitudes corresponding to the σ, f0 and a0 resonances. The ππ → ππ , ππ → K...

Scalar-isoscalar mesons are studied using an unitary model in three channels: ππ, KK and an effective 2π2π. All the solutions, fitted to the ππ and KK data, exhibit a wide f0(500), a narrow f0(980) and two relatively narrow resonances, lying on different sheets between 1300 MeV and 1500 MeV. These latter states are similar to the f0(1370) and f0(1500) seen in experiments at CERN. Branching rati...
